About the work


This Jukurrpa (Dreaming) belongs to Japaljarri and Jungurrayi and their sisters Napaljarri and Nungurrayi. Japaljarri has painted several of the Jukurrpa that pass through Kunajarrayi. (Mount Nicker) - the witchetty grub, budgerigar and women's Jukurrpa as well as this one. On the top left-hand edge vertical designs of circles and wavy lines denote the witchetty grub site. To the right, U-shapes around a circle indicate Nungurrayi and Napaljarri with their wooden bowls collecting bush food. Above and extending to the right are clusters of budgerigar feet marks.
