About the work

On becoming a part of The State Art Collection, the purpose of these works shifted. Made to be worn, felt with bare hands, they are now disconnected from the body while remaining infinitely wearable. When surveying the many hundreds of wearable objects in AGWA's collection store I limited myself to neckpieces because of their call to be worn close to the heart. While all are aesthetically and materially connected, they were selected because of the skill in their creation, personal qualities, wearability, and my desire to pick them up, turn them over and see how they were made.
