About the work


In 1921 Arthur Streeton purchased a property at Olinda in the Dandenong Ranges near Melbourne which he called 'Longacres'. In 1924-25, he organised the building of his house at Longacres and by 1939 he moved there permanently after the death of his wife Nora and lived there until he died in September 1943.
