Wuramu post (Macassan)
NGULBURAI: artist
Wuramu posts are thought to be derived from Macassan mortuary posts. Macassans from nearby Indonesia regularly visited the Top End of Australia for centuries before the British arrived in 1788 (Caruana pers comm 2016).
