Kain panjang, skirt cloth or cotton, batik tulis natural dyes of Pasisir batkis, characterised by striking red colour applied against ivory background with blue.
Badan of various birds and flowers among twisting foliage with delicate fern like leaves. The papan large heads of chrysanthemums enclosed in vines. Kepala one end of patchwork and tumpals with a red end dotted with white floers, the other papan of birds and flowers with tumpal ends and blue again housing white flowers. Tumpals contain single flower sprays. Bordered by flora changing to geometric pattern at kepala. From Lasem, Java area of Indonesia.
Note: Many Chinese objects were used as motifs in batiks portraying the population on Indonesia's north coast.
