About the work

Mangrove Jack, 2005 and Golden Trevally, 2005, are both excellent examples of Gabori’s earlier works, which exemplify the unique approach to materials and application that have shaped the artists prolific career. Both Mangrove Jack, 2005 and Golden Travelly, 2005, depict the scaled surfaces of these two species of fish that inhabit the waters surrounding both the artists birthplace, Bentinck Island and her current home, Mornington Island.
