About the work

This image shows me crying about missing my Badimaya country. I was
thinking about the possibility that I may go to my ancestors far away
from such sorrow.
I was also told by someone that I wasn’t a real Badimaya person because
I lived in the city. Something which only occurred after the Native Title
legislation was introduced to the lives of First Nation people. First Nation
people had to prove a continual connection to land which is a human
rights violation according to the Indigenous UN.
At the time I was living in North Perth which is very close to the city of Perth.
