About the work

Since 2014, artists have been experimenting with ideas and designs through the Ngurra Streetwear Project. The focus every year is to create print-ready designs, which utilise fashion as a canvas to express self, Ngaanyatjarra culture and life in a remote community. In addition to having the opportunity to see their works immortalised on streetwear, artists learn hands on skills in graphic design, layout, and merchandising. Eunice’s designs are highly sought after for their painterly, dynamic and storytelling qualities. This featured design of Ngaanyatjarra women dancing is an important cultural rite, and a special one for the viewer to be allowed access into. The design was originally black and white, however Eunice added colour to it later on.
