About the work

This artwork was created by suspending water balloons filled with paint above the
canvas, and then shooting the water balloon with a rifle to create a paint explosion for the
background of the artwork. This action represents the devastating impact that the 1905
ACT had on Aboriginal people. The Gun represents the Government of the time, the Bullet
represents the 1905 ACT, the Balloon represents the Aboriginal culture, language and
lively hood, and whats left on the canvas represents all the issues we see today in our
community that stems from this policy.
